— 2017, May - Greenwich Rotary Club 2017 Citizen of the Year —
The Greenwich Rotary Club honored Charles Hilton along with Mary Hull as their ‘2017 Citizens of the Year’. In its 21st year, Rotary’s annual Citizen of the Year celebration honors individuals working and living in Greenwich for their service and commitment to the Greenwich community. Chuck was honored for his community service leading his firm as the designer of the Greenwich September 11th Memorial, the Greenwich Rotary Centennial Pavilion in Byram Park and new signage to mark Greenwich’s nine historic districts. The CHA team joins the wonderful celebration on a beautiful evening at the Round Hill Club on Wednesday, May 17th.

— 2016, December - Sign Dedication —
The Greenwich Preservation Network dedicated a new historic marker for the River Road-Mead Avenue Historic District in Cos Cob, CT. Charles Hilton was pleased to join Greenwich Historical Society Chairman, Davidde Strackbein, Greenwich Historical Society Executive Director, Debra Mecky and Greenwich Preservation Network Chairman, Diane Fox, for the dedication of the new Historic District marker. The sign designed by Charles Hilton Architects is the second of 15 Historic District signs planned for the 9 Historic Districts in Greenwich.
— 2016, November - New England Design Hall of Fame Celebration —
Several CHA team members celebrated with Chuck Hilton as he was inducted into the New England Home Design Hall of Fame on November 10, 2016. The New England Home Design Hall of Fame “honors individuals who have had exceptional careers in New England’s residential design industry. A small number of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and builders whose work, influence, and community involvement have set them at the pinnacle of their profession” are inducted into the Hall of Fame each November. The ceremony was held at the State Room in Boston, MA in front of an audience of nearly 500 design and construction professionals.

The Charles Hilton Architects team was thrilled to join several hundred other guests at the Palace Theatre in Stamford, CT on Thursday, September 8th, 2016. The firm won not just one, but two athome A-List Awards (Best Pool House and Best Traditional Architecture less than 7,000 sq.ft) and was honored as a finalist in three other categories (Best Office/Library, Best Renovation, Best Traditional Architecture Greater than 7,000 sq.ft). Charles Hilton Architects held its annual summer picnic at Tod’s Point Park on July 23rd. The day’s festivities included games of cornhole, jenga and CHA Trivia Pursuit, along with lobsters, steak, drinks and a lot of laughs!

On May 17th, Charles Hilton Architects was honored with the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Corporate Leadership Award at the Greenwich Chamber’s Annual Awards Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, Connecticut. The award is given each year to a business that “has demonstrated longstanding involvement in the community and, through solid leadership, is enhancing the town’s quality of life.”

On Sunday, April 17th Charles Hilton Architects was pleased to help sponsor the Greenwich Historical Society’s annual Landmarks Program held at the Greenwich Country Club. Chuck was honored to have the opportunity to present two of the plaques to the homeowners.
— 2015, December - Holidays come to CHA —
CHA decked the halls in preparation for the holiday season! Team members helped decorate the Christmas tree, put wreaths on the doors and strung lights and garland to help bring out some festive cheer. The firm then put their individual skills to the test during a gingerbread house competition. A sweet cookie village now decorates the office!

On December 1, members of CHA traveled to Norwalk, CT to accept the Alice Washburn Award at the AIA CT Awards Ceremony. The firm’s Limonaia on a French Country Estate project won the ‘Accessory Building’ award.

CHA took some time on a late Friday afternoon to sit down and carve pumpkins together. Designs ranged from traditional jack-o’-lanterns to wild creations! Homemade apple cider and treats were also enjoyed.

Charles Hilton Architects was honored to help dedicate the September 11th Memorial in Cos Cob Park, Greenwich, CT on the fourteenth anniversary of the attacks. The weather echoed the somber mood, but a very large turnout showed the strength of the community and its ability to come together. Thank you to everyone who supported this project. The entire CHA firm traveled to Stamford for the athome A-List Awards. Two projects, the New England Shingle Style’s Office and the Limonaia on a French Country Estate, were both finalists in their respective categories. Team members enjoyed a night out with good food and drink!

Charles Hilton was happy to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the CHA designed Greenwich September 11th Memorial in Cos Cob Park, due to be open to the public September 11, 2015.
— 2015, April - Egypt Part III —
The last leg of Chuck’s travels through Egypt took place in the Cairo area. The group returned to Cairo on April 13th and joined their host from Marmi Stone for a candlelight dinner in the oldest stone quarry in Egypt. The following morning they toured two of Marmi’s expansive fabrication facilities with over 2 ½ million square feet of production facilities followed by a visit to the Pyramids of Giza and the great Sphinx before returning to the States the following day. Thank you to our Leaders of Design Council friends and Marmi Stone for a trip of a lifetime!
