- Episode 2: Interstate + Lakeland Lumber -
In our second installment of Craftsman’s Corner, we met with the team from Interstate + Lakeland Lumber, who are based in Greenwich, Connecticut, to speak with them about the fabrication and use of cellular PVC for exterior millwork and trim.
We met with their team on the site of a newly completed CHA-designed project located in Larchmont, New York. The project consisted of an extensive gut renovation of the interior and a new exterior for this waterfront Mediterranean house.
Many of CHA’s projects are traditionally-inspired and contain a great deal of exterior trim, from the house’s cornice, to the window and door trim, porticos, pergolas, porches and much more. Historically, this exterior trim would be made from wood. However, cellular PVC is a recyclable, durable, and potentially cost-effective alternative to natural wood. Unfortunately, many exterior trim fabricators do not understand how to properly manufacture and install cellular PVC. We believe that Interstate + Lakeland Lumber is among the best at doing this, and that’s why we invited them to join us on site to speak more about what they do so well.
